Suddenly the castle flew into the air

RURAL OHIO, USA – A charity fundraiser in the backyard of a family home in Millersburg, Ohio, turned chaotic when a sudden gust of wind lifted a bouncy castle high into the air, injuring two children in a terrifying incident.

The event, held in a spacious field behind the Thompson family’s residence to raise funds for a local animal shelter, was in full swing when the unexpected windstorm struck. Video footage captured the inflatable spiraling upward over the open field, far from its anchored spot, as stunned parents and neighbors watched in horror. As the bouncy castle climbed, two children, unable to hold on, fell from the structure. Quick-thinking adults below rushed to form a human crash mat, attempting to cushion their fall. Despite their efforts, both children sustained serious injuries.

One child reportedly suffered a fractured collarbone, while the other was treated for a severe concussion.“It happened so fast,” said Emily Thompson, the homeowner and event organizer. “One moment, the kids were laughing and bouncing; the next, the castle was in the sky. We did everything we could to help.”Emergency services arrived promptly, and the injured children were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they are said to be in stable condition.

The bouncy castle eventually came to rest approximately 60 feet from its original location, tangled in a cluster of trees at the edge of the field.Local authorities are investigating the incident, with early reports suggesting that the inflatable may not have been properly secured. The fundraiser, which had drawn a small crowd of families and supporters, was abruptly halted as organizers focused on supporting the affected families. The incident has left the tight-knit Millersburg community shaken, with residents calling for stricter safety regulations for inflatable structures at private events. “This was supposed to be a fun day for a good cause,” said one parent. “Now we’re just praying for the kids to recover quickly.”
