Kid Rock and Oliver Anthony to Pay Tribute to Toby Keith by Shotgunning Beers on Top of a Bald Eagle
April 5, 2025 | Nashville, TN — In a bold and extremely American move, country-rock firebrands Kid Rock and Oliver Anthony have announced their plans to pay tribute to the late Toby Keith with a performance described as “half concert, half monster truck rally, and 100% bald eagle-fueled patriotism.”
The duo will honor Keith’s legacy by performing a medley of his most iconic hits while shotgunning Budweisers atop a live bald eagle tethered to a monster truck named “Freedom Screecher.” The event, which is scheduled to take place in a Waffle House parking lot near a Bass Pro Shop, is being billed as “The Most Toby Keith Thing That Ever Happened.”
“We were gonna do a normal tribute,” said Kid Rock, polishing a red, white, and blue guitar that doubles as a bottle opener. “But then we thought — what would Toby want? And the answer was obvious: beer, trucks, fireworks, and a possibly illegal amount of American flags.”
Oliver Anthony, who rose to fame singing about working-class woes in the woods, added, “We’re also grilling 76 pounds of meat during the performance — one for each trombone in the patriotic parade of Toby’s legacy.”
The event will end with a dramatic display where Kid Rock fires a bottle rocket shaped like a guitar into the sky while shouting, “Courtesy of the Red, White, and BOOM!”
PETA, the FAA, and the American Association of Grill Masters have all issued confused and mildly concerned statements, but organizers say Toby Keith “would’ve loved the chaos.”
Tickets are free, but attendees must bring proof of at least one patriotic tattoo or a photograph of themselves riding a tractor.
